Charles A Tweedy Esq.

Charles A. Tweedy graduated from University of California, Berkeley, in 1977 with a Bachelors Degree in Economics. He received a Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1980, and a Master of Laws degree in Business & Taxation Law from McGeorge School of Law in 1983.

Charles was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1980, and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern, Northern and Central Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Since his admission to the State Bar, Charles has practiced in the areas of business and commercial transactional law and litigation, including commercial real estate acquisitions and financing, commercial litigation, corporate, partnership, and limited liability company formations, operation and dissolution actions, buying and selling businesses, and construction defect and mechanic’s lien litigation.

Business Philosophy

His business and litigation philosophy is result oriented. “My goal is to achieve the best economic result for my clients.” In business matters, his focus is to enable the transaction to be a success while protecting his client’s interests and advising them of the potential risks of their alternatives. In litigation, he is focused not only on the issues of the case, but also on the cost of litigation and the opportunities for resolution. When that cannot be done, he will resolutely take the case to trial. Whether it is a half day simple matter or a complex litigation, he is always ready to go the distance.

Small Disputes

While Charles has handled numerous complex litigations, he also handles relatively small disputes for his clients, and is critically aware that representation must be cost effective in order to be effective at all. In order to meet that objective, he encourages his clients to be actively involved in their cases and the decision making process whenever practical.
